A beautiful French chest of drawers was built in 1780 in the style of Louis XVI. Emulating the stately simplicity of the Louis Seize period, this piece consists of three drawers with brass fixtures framed by fluted rounded corners that terminate in turned tapered legs. The white marble top is carved with rounded front corners that mirror the fluted wooden legs, though the back edge is cut straight so that the chest can sit flush with the wall. Although each drawer features an elegant brass keyhole, the drawers themselves do not lock and therefore require no keys. Recently bleached.
