Wellon is a self-taught artist whose journey into the vibrant world of painting began serendipitously. Her captivating artwork graces galleries across the Southeast, earning accolades in numerous design publications and finding homes in collections worldwide. With a scholarly foundation in English and French from Auburn and Wake Forest Universities, Wellon shared her passion for learning as an educator in high schools and universities. Through her teaching tenure, she cultivated service learning initiatives in nonprofit and community-based organizations. Beyond her artistic endeavors and educational pursuits, Wellon dedicates her time as the US Director for Mwana Villages, a ministry dedicated to empowering the vulnerable in the Republic of Congo. Alongside her partner Stephen, she finds joy in nurturing their four spirited children – Fitz, Chloe, Daniel, and Leila. Their family extends to include cherished rescue dogs Weezy and Hero, along with Rosie, Wellon’s cherished equine companion. Together, the Bridgers call Birmingham, Alabama, home.
