Christen Colvert

In the midst of summer art classes, amidst a sea of adults, Christen Colvert stood out as the lone child, fueling her passion for creativity from an early age. Art has been a lifelong love affair for Christen, embraced not only as a pastime but as a profound calling. Never envisioning it as a viable career path, she embarked on her journey at Auburn University, where she pursued a Bachelor of Fine Arts with a specialized focus in graphic design, indulging in numerous drawing, color theory, and, notably, watercolor classes.

Following graduation, she found herself immersed in the world of publishing, reveling in the intricacies of magazine design. Yet, amidst the digital realm, a yearning for the tactile experience lingered, a desire to feel the paint between her fingers and embrace the messiness of creation. This longing intensified after the arrival of her third son, leading Christen down the path of teaching preschool art, a transition that ultimately paved the way for a full-time pursuit of painting.

For Christen, art transcends mere expression—it’s a form of worship, a conduit for peace and joy that permeates every stroke of the brush. With each creation, she seeks to capture not only the beauty of the world but also the divine essence that inspires it. Her ultimate aspiration? To imbue her art with a sense of reverence that resonates within the walls of every home it graces, inviting others to join her in the contemplation of the divine. Through her work, she strives to offer a glimpse into the sacred, encouraging viewers to turn their gaze toward the divine source of all creation.
