Curio Paper Mache Polka Vase

Handcrafted from textural paper maché, the Curio Paper Mache Polka Vase has a unique aged appearance achieved by adding a clear lacquer to the raw paper maché. We love how it makes this playful piece appear as though it’s from a distant time. Made from recycled newspapers, they are entirely natural and sustainable. First, the newspaper is mixed with water, and then chalk and tree sap crystals are added to turn the substance into a clay-like material. The pulp is kneaded into chapati-like forms, then rolled and molded into the sculptural objects we love. There is no firing, no power used, and the process is entirely eco-friendly. Porous in nature, papier maché should not be exposed to liquids.
